The aim is to develop new methods for chemical analysis of wood tissues and wood fibres at a microscopical scale. Methods already available i our laboratory will be tested and evaluated/refined for analysis of different tissues in domestic wood species.New methods for microanalysis will be developed.Different methods for chemical microscopy, especially SEM-EDXA and CLSM, and specific methods for metal and fluorescent labelling will be tested. We will also try to get access to a ToF-SIMS instrument [not yet available in Finland].
